Indoor cycling on real roads.

Ride real roads, indoors.

Velorido is an indoor cycling game. Pair your trainer, drop into a map built from real terrain and real roads, and ride.

Free during the alpha. A Wahoo Kickr today — other trainers are in progress.

A real place, drawn from map data. 1,086 building footprints, 7 with a height OpenStreetMap records.

Before you start

What you need.

  • A trainer

A Bluetooth smart trainer. A Wahoo Kickr works today. Support for other trainers is in progress.

  • A computer

macOS or Windows, with Bluetooth 4.0. A five-year-old laptop is enough — that is the machine this is built for.

  • Nothing else

Free during the alpha. No subscription, and you can ride on your own without signing in.

What it is

A game you ride.

Your trainer

Velorido talks to your trainer over Bluetooth. A Wahoo Kickr works today; support for other trainers is in progress.

A real place

Every map is baked from real OpenStreetMap roads and real elevation data. You are riding somewhere that exists, not invented scenery.

Other people

Pacers already circulate the routes. Riding with other people is in progress.

A file you keep

Every ride records and exports as TCX, the format most training sites accept. Your history stays on your machine.

Where you ride

Built from real geography.

Routes are baked from OpenStreetMap road data and Copernicus elevation data. Terrain and roads are real. Some building heights are not, because OpenStreetMap rarely records them, and the game never claims otherwise.

Honestly

What works today.

Working now

  • A real trainer drives a real ride
  • The server decides where you are and how steep it is
  • Maps baked from OpenStreetMap and Copernicus elevation
  • Buildings stream in, so a long route opens on a modest machine
  • Pacers already circulate the routes
  • A ride HUD and a hub of rooms
  • Recording and TCX export

In progress

  • Trainers beyond the Wahoo Kickr
  • Heart-rate straps
  • Riding with other people, live
  • Structured workouts and ERG mode
  • Accounts, so your history follows you

Nothing above is claimed as working, and none of it is on this page in the present tense.
